CLAIM THE NSW $500 SAFETY REBATE

NSW small businesses can claim the cost of their sanitiser products up to $500

The rebate provides up to $500 to small business owners and sole traders in NSW who buy and install equipment to make their workplace safer.

Changes have been made to support small business and sole traders in NSW that have recently been impacted by a natural disaster, state of emergency or Covid-19

  • Any sole trader or small business owner that has completed an eligible event with Safework after 1 August 2019 has 12 months to apply for the rebate.
  • New workplace hygiene items are also eligible

Step 1: Check your eligibility

  • You must own a business registered in NSW and have a current ABN. (Your business must produce goods or provide services in NSW).
  • Your business must fall within the scope of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
  • Your business must be your main source of income.
  • Your business must employ 0-50 full-time employees (or equivalent).

Step 2: Attend a free eligible event such as watching a webinar. 

(Any sole trader or small business owner that has completed an eligible event with SafeWork after 1 August 2019 has 12 months to apply for the rebate).

Various online webinars or recorded webinars to choose from. They are all free activities and are taken less than 30 minutes to finish.

  3. Register before listening the topic
  4. The first question will appear at ‘12mins 56 sec’, and answer is A, B, C
  5. The 2nd question will appear at ’16 mins 20 sec’, and answer is A.​
